Three Rivers Mosquito and Vector staff has extensive experience with midge control. We currently offer midge control solutions for clients around the Klamath basin.
Edward S. Horvath has a long term partnership with one the the most well known midge experts in the world.
Dr. Arshad Ali, currently an Emeritus Professor of Aquatic Entomology and Ecology at University of Florida, USA, secured his MSc Zoology degree from Government College, Lahore, and his MSc (by thesis) and PhD degrees from University of Salford, UK. He did post-doctoral research at the University of California, Riverside for over four years and since 1978 is affiliated with University of Florida where he was promoted to full professorship in 1984. He is the author/co-author of over 200 research publications including several book chapters. Professor Ali has trained numerous graduate students and post-doctoral colleagues. His name is listed in the American Men and Women of Science. He has traveled to 53 countries in connection with his research and has made over 230 presentations at various US local and national as well as international meetings.
With this partnership, TRMVC has instituted efforts to help understand, research and control midges from different areas in the world. Our first project is to research the feasibility of understanding and controlling the famous Klamath Midge, in Klamath County, Oregon, USA. www.klamathmidge.org
